Founded in 2025 by Scott and Bree Bates, Winnathoola Wagyu is built on six generations on the land. It’s a family operation dedicated to producing Wagyu with care, consistency, and integrity.
Wallumbilla, Queensland
Where our Wagyu call home. Set on prime grazing country between Roma and Miles, our properties combine rich cropping land with open paddocks, giving our Wagyu the space and feed they need to thrive.
Our mission is to raise exceptional Wagyu on our terms, at our pace, for a global market that values uncompromising quality.
At Winnathoola Wagyu, we don’t rush excellence.
Every decision on the farm is made with the understanding that we’ll be living with it for decades. We breed cattle over years, not seasons, the long road isn’t a limitation, it’s what sets us apart. Six generations on the land. Our children grow up in the yards, this is their life, not just a job. Long-term thinking and care for the land and the cattle are part of who we are. We’re not focused on short-term gains, we’re building for the next 150 years.
While many are chasing scale, we focus on depth. We know our genetics, our land, and our partners inside and out. This knowledge grows over time and can’t be copied by anyone moving fast.
We operate with quiet confidence. We don’t need to convince you that slow is better. We state what we do, why we do it, and what we won’t do, and then let you decide. No apologies for taking the long road.
