At Winnathoola Wagyu, the well-being of our cattle comes first.

Our unique living environment creates happier, healthier cattle and their well-being shows in the meat they produce. The result is exceptional marbling, with finer, more evenly distributed fat and a tender, buttery texture.

We maintain full control over every stage of production. From the feed they eat, grain, grass, silage, and straw grown entirely on our family properties to the care and handling throughout their lives, we know exactly what goes into raising our cattle. This level of control ensures the highest-quality feed, supports animal health, and strengthens the connection between the land, the cattle, and the plate.

Our approach is personal. Every animal is bred, fed, and cared for by us, reflecting a commitment to quality, integrity, and a life well-lived for our Wagyu.

Fullblood Wagyu

The Winnathoola Fullblood Wagyu herd was established in 2018 through the careful selection of foundation females from some of Australia's leading Wagyu breeders, bringing together a diverse base of Japanese genetics introduced through influential foundation programs.

Our current Fullblood progeny average approximately 55% Tajima genetics, complemented by Itozakura/Shimane and Kedaka/Tottori bloodlines, together providing a balanced genetic base built for carcase quality, growth, maternal strength and marbling.

Wagyu X

Our Wagyu X cattle are bred from carefully selected Fullblood Wagyu bulls over quality females sired by Black Angus bulls, with a focus on consistent carcase quality, marbling and eating performance.

Cattle are finished on a nutritionist-formulated, barley grain-based ration, using home-grown ingredients from our own farming operation wherever possible. It's an approach that keeps us hands-on at every stage — growing the feed, breeding the cattle, and seeing it through to the finished Wagyu beef product.
